FibriCheck: how does it work?
In a nutshell
You simply place your finger on the camera to measure your heart rate and heart rhythm for one minute. It’s best to do this once in the morning and once in the evening, with additional measurements whenever you experience symptoms. This way, you get a clear picture of your heart rhythm.
If you wish, you can also easily share the data from your measurements with your doctor via a clear report, so your doctor has all the necessary information.
Step by step
- Open the FibriCheck app.
- Gently place your finger on your smartphone camera and measure for 1 minute.
- The app first detects your heart rate and heart rhythm and then measures for 60 seconds.
- After the measurement, the app asks you two more questions: whether you felt any symptoms and what you were doing before the measurement.
- View your result immediately.

Measuring is knowing
That’s why it’s important to monitor your heart rhythm
If you are over 40, you have a 1 in 4 chance of developing atrial fibrillation at some point
Unlike your heart rate, which constantly varies, your heart rhythm should remain regular throughout the day. If your heart beats irregularly, this is called a heart rhythm disorder.
From the age of 40, you have as much as a 25% chance of developing a heart rhythm disorder such as atrial fibrillation (AF). And the older you get, the higher that risk becomes.
A heart rhythm disorder increases the risk of stroke up to 5 times
Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common heart rhythm disorders and increases the risk of stroke up to fivefold.
Because many people never experience symptoms, it is all the more important that rhythm disorders are identified and treated as early as possible. 75% of strokes can be prevented through timely detection and active monitoring.
