60 euros for preventive check-ups
Helan health insurance provides a reimbursement of up to 60 euros per year for the membership fee of the Diabetes League and for the co-payment for consultations with a general practitioner, dietitian, dentist, or ophthalmologist.

Download the reimbursement form diabetes and have it completed by your doctor. Or use the invoice from the Diabetes League.
Send the completed form or the invoice to Helan.
Please provide us with your reimbursement form or the invoice from the Diabetes League:
- Digital: via the My Helan app (mobile) or via My Helan (desktop). No adhesive stamp is required; we identify your document through your login.
- By post to Helan Independent Health Insurance, Boomsesteenweg 5 in 2610 Wilrijk, with a white adhesive stamp. Or drop it in a Helan mailbox near you.
We will transfer the amount to your bank account.
- You are up to date with your health insurance contributions.
- It concerns consultations with a general practitioner, dietitian, dentist, or ophthalmologist.
- The doctor or dietitian must confirm that you are a diabetes patient.
- Also applicable to teleconsultations.
- This benefit is only valid when provided in Belgium.
30% discount on diabetes supplies
As a customer of Helan health insurance, you receive 30% discount on your purchase of diabetes materials in the Helan Care Shop. The care shop is an approved provider, and you will find, among other things, a glucose meter, test strips, and lancets.

A 5 euro reimbursement per foot care session
Helan health insurance provides a reimbursement of 5 euros per session for everyone, with a maximum of 4 sessions per year.
As your general practitioner for a medical certificate if you are under 65 (one-time).
Download the reimbursement form.
Download the reimbursement form foot care and have it completed by your pedicurist or podiatrist.
Send the form and, if necessary, the medical certificate to Helan.
Please provide us with the completed reimbursement form, together with the medical certificate:
- Digital: via the My Helan app (mobile) or via My Helan (desktop).

- Are you younger than 65 years old? Then please provide us with a medical prescription once.
- The treatment must be carried out by a pedicurist or a podiatrist recognised by the RIZIV.
- Only if there is no reimbursement via the statutory health insurance.
