Yes. For a monthly premium of EUR 10.60 per holder or beneficiary, we go beyond simply reimbursing what you're entitled to by the law. You'll get a nice set of extra Helan benefits too. Children don't pay separate contributions – they simply get to enjoy the same benefits as their parents.

You can decide to switch at any time. But legally speaking, your membership can only start at the beginning of each quarter: either on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July or 1 October.
Joining a health insurance fund for the first time?
You can join at any time and enjoy the benefits straight away.
Not at all. Switching health insurance fund can be very easy, even if you are adding dental or hospital insurance for the first time. Join easily online and we will automatically cancel your previous health insurance.

There are some conditions you need to meet before you can switch to another health insurance fund.
- You must have been a customer of your current health insurance fund for at least one year
- You must not have any outstanding bills with your current health insurance fund
Every member of a health insurance fund pays a premium. At Helan Health Insurance Fund, this premium is EUR 10.60 per holder. This means that only people with their own health insurance records have to pay. There is no additional premium for dependent children.
In return for this monthly payment, you have access to all the services, reimbursements and benefits of our health insurance fund.
To take out insurance through a health insurance fund, you must be a customer of that same health insurance fund. If you decide to switch to Helan, you can also transfer your dental and hospitalisation insurance to us. You can do so very easily when you join Helan. Even better, there's no need to worry about any waiting period: it simply expires, so that you remain covered at all times.
There's no need to worry: you'll get back everything you're entitled to. When you change health insurance fund, your file is always transferred on the first day of a new quarter. Your previous health insurance fund will continue to pay any reimbursements before that date. From 1 January, April, July or October, all your reimbursements will go through Helan.
If you find any old medical bills after you switch, you can submit these to your previous health insurance fund for up to two years after the date the treatment or service was delivered.
